Our Committees

ISCO's work is carried out by six committees, each contributing a unique piece to our shared mission of celebrating and preserving Iranian culture at Berkeley.
Together, they plan our events, manage our resources, tell our story, and welcome every member into our community.

Leads and manages ISCO's board and chairs, guiding the organization's overall vision and direction. The President and Vice Presidents work together to support each committee, ensure accountability across the team, and keep ISCO's mission and culture at the heart of everything the organization does.

Connects members to the broader Persian community through professional career panels, Persian Thanksgiving, and other fun cultural events. Builds cultural bridges by facilitating collaborations with other organizations, creating engaging experiences for members throughout the year.

Plans and executes ISCO's major cultural celebrations, including Fall and Spring ISCO Disco, Shabe Yalda, and Norouz Show. Through careful coordination, the committee ensures these vibrant events run seamlessly across the academic year.

Serves as the backbone of ISCO's financial operations, managing budgets, expenses, and fiscal planning. Finance ensures resources are allocated efficiently to support ISCO's initiatives throughout the year.

Builds community through Welcome Week events, semesterly mehmoonis, and gatherings that bring the team together — including board and chair socials and retreats. Fosters unity within ISCO while ensuring a welcoming experience for every member.

Manages ISCO's public presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, newsletters, and this website, along with merchandise. Shapes how the Iranian community at Berkeley sees and engages with ISCO online.
